Become a Superhero-In-Training
Our team turns highly technical subject matter into content that is usable across a wide range of audiences – non-technical decision makers, press/media, the broader security community, consumers, security practitioners, and more. Every day, our researchers aggregate and produce world-class intelligence about a spectrum of security threats. It is our job to ensure that the threat intelligence is broadly accessible; useful for its intended audiences; and repurposed as needed such that Proofpoint, our customers, prospective customers, and other heterogeneous groups inside and outside the organization derive maximum benefit from our threat research.
We need to increase the volume of publications coming out of our group. To that end, the intern will:
Learn tools and processes for assimilating threat data and interacting with researchers
Produce regular content under the direction of the hiring manager and editor of the Threat Insight Blog
Contribute to regular long-form research reports
Learn to tell stories and build out narratives in the context of highly technical subject matter and in ways that are consistent with our brand and audiences
Your Current Super-Skills
Storytelling– Create narratives that are compelling for a wide range of readers that also speak to a core audience of deeply technical security researchers and practitioners
Expository writing– Write clearly and precisely, in ways that help the audience understand the impact and importance of the content
Communication– Be able to interpret content in a variety of forms (notes, bullet points, conversation, near-complete writeups, etc., and then explain that content to others in both written and spoken formats
Your Superhero Profile
You have the ability and interest in workingpart time(30 hours/week at maximum)onsitein our Sunnyvale, CA office. You are currently pursuing anundergraduate degree, and are successfully maintaining an above average GPA, preferably 3.0 or higher. This internship is scheduled to begin immediately and end on approximately August 30, 2019.
