The Role and the Team
Based in our Sunnyvale office, Proofpoint is looking for a self-starting, responsible, mature, highly-motivated renewal sales account manager. This person must be able to work well with a team of sales account executives, sales engineers and support management to ensure the satisfaction of our existing customer base and secure their subscriptions.
The Renewal Account Manager will demand interaction with large scale enterprises at senior levels, as well as with technical staff within the traditional IT organization. The successful candidate will have sound sales experience and excellent business acumen blended with strong interpersonal and presentational skills.
Driving the qualification, quoting, and Salesforce processes to bring renewals to a close
Establishing and maintaining strong business relationships at the executive level
Working cross functionally with various internal teams such as Account Managers, Sales Engineers, Channel, Customer Success Managers, Finance, Legal, Manufacturing, Operations, and Professional Services
Proactively identify customer issues, work with the larger Proofpoint team to resolve them
Forecast daily, monthly, quarterly accurately via Salesforce and excel
Must have strong written and verbal communication skills and be able to clearly and effectively articulate Proofpoint’s value
Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and in a team environment
Ability to coordinate Proofpoint resources to execute a complex sales strategy
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and web conferencing tools
Ability to use Salesforce.com and other online tools effectively
