The roleThe Global Employee Communications Manager is an individual contributor, who will be joining a small, creative and cohesive team responsible for learning and leadership development strategy and programs. As we grow, our team is now adding employee communications to our services. Reporting to the Director, Learning & Leadership Development, this experienced employee communications professional will have the unique opportunity to help in the teams’ continued efforts toward building a global learning and employee communications function in a fast-growing company and industry.In this exciting role,you will help to enhance the employee experience through the development, execution and continual improvement of an employee communications strategy. You will help employees stay informed on changing internal priorities, programs and processes and help them connect their work to Proofpoint’s objectives. The ideal candidate thrives in building from the ground up, working globally and locally, speaking with and learning from employees at all levels and finding creative and fun ways through new and interesting media to share information with employees.Cool things you get to do

  • Develop a global and local employee communications strategy/roadmap from the ground up including site-specific messaging

  • Keep employees informed of the new and exciting things happening throughout all our offices and partner with local site leadership pertaining to communications at the site level

  • Help people leaders communicate to their teams, especially through strategy and large system implementation changes

  • Partner with HR, Finance, Legal and IT colleagues to build messaging strategies and write communications for company announcements and program implementations

  • Work with corporatecommunications and Public Relations to align on internal and external messages as they pertain to the employee experience

  • Build an intranet strategy

  • Manage acquisition communications

  • Other cool stuff we haven’t thought of yet

You should apply if you

  • Have at least five years of experience managing global employee communications in an international and public company. Extra points if you’ve worked for a high-tech company our size that is scaling quickly.

  • Have a bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English or related. Professional communications certification a plus. Education is important, and experience counts more so apply even if you don’t have a degree.

  • Have demonstrated superior writing and editing skills

  • Are comfortable using common intranet platforms such as Confluence or SharePoint or other systems/tools designed for sharing internal company and employee relevant information

  • Graphic design a plus

  • Are continually curious about and listen to communication needs of employees

  • Have the confidence to influence employees at all levels

  • Can help lead change through mindful and inclusive communications

  • Naturally jump in and help colleagues solve problems and welcome others to help you, too

  • Get stuff done. You do what you say you will do.

  • Are willing to travel up to 20%, with some international travel
