Technical Account Manager (Enterprise Security Services)

The Role

The role of the Technical Account Manager is to work with our enterprise-level customers so that they realize the full value of the products and services they have purchased from Proofpoint. This is a dynamic role in a fast-paced environment that requires interaction with business stakeholders at senior levels, as well as with technical staff within architecture, project management, messaging and security operations teams.

The TAM role is best suited to individuals that like engaging at different levels within an organization using multiple skill sets to help Proofpoint customers attain their security goals.

Pre & Post COVID several customer interactions take place on-site, therefore some travel will be required.

Your day-to-day

Understand the customers’:

  • Unique security goals,

  • Business requirements,

  • Proofpoint deployment.

Assist Proofpoint customers in:

  • Setting goals and success criteria for their Proofpoint deployment;

  • Providing reports to track key metrics and progress.

Act as a technical advocate:

  • Manage and monitor interactions with our technical support team proactively escalating issues and feature requests.

Collaborate at all levels:

  • Create and deliver executive customer presentations that outline system performance, potential issues, and suggested forward courses of action;

  • Proactively make recommendations to improve customers’ security posture and system performance;

  • Provide insights on industry trends, on the security landscape, best practices and product roadmaps affecting the customer’s business.

Initiate and lead:

  • Weekly Status calls;

  • Monthly management calls;

  • Periodic executive-level business reviews.

What you bring to the team

  • Very strong customer service and account management skills;

  • Extensive industry experience in a client/professional services, sales engineer, senior support engineer, IT operations management, or senior engineer role with exposure to multiple technology areas (Preferably within a software security organization);

  • A history of successfully leading and managing customers through escalations;

  • Experience and working knowledge of basic software security principals, concepts and technologies;

  • Working knowledge of data communication concepts and technologies - specifically email and networking;

  • Excellent communications skills in English and Spanish - both written and oral including strong presentation skills;

  • Adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies;

  • Strong project management and time management skills.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of Linux, SMTP, and MySQL;

  • Working knowledge of Windows, Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange;

  • Additional language skills in German, French or Italian.
