The Role

  • Proofpoint is seeking a Senior Sales Engineerto join our growing Named Enterprise team in Southern California. As a Senior Sales Engineer, you will be one of the most important members of the Proofpoint sales team.

  • You will be relied on daily as you work closely with other members of the sales team to deliver the most successful security platform available.

  • You will get to know your customers well, as they utilize you for their technical point of contact through the entire sales cycle.

  • You will get to develop and tell a compelling story that will excite your customer and have them begging you to tell them more. Your story will include an amazing product demonstration, followed by a proof-of-concept, and ultimately a sale that you will take pride in being a part of. Your day-to-day

  • You will be one of the most important members of the Proofpoint sales team.

  • You will be relied on daily as you work closely with other members of the sales team to deliver the most successful security platform available.

  • You will get to know your customers well, as they utilize you for their technical point of contact through the entire sales cycle.

  • You will get to develop and tell a compelling story that will excite your customer and have them begging you to tell them more. Your story will include an amazing product demonstration, followed by a proof-of-concept, and ultimately a sale that you will take pride in being a part of.

  • You will be able to design complex email and data security solutions and be a part of the building of quotations for customer sales presentations

  • You might, periodically, be called upon to assist in professional services deployments, technical training, and industry seminars and/or trade shows

  • You will be able to provide valuable customer insight and real world experiences to Product Management, Marketing and Product Development (Engineering) teams to help keep our solutions the best in the industry.

  • You will become an expert in Email Security Gateways, Advanced Persistent Threats, Attack Protection, Threat Response, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), and what the bad guys are up to.

  • You will be helping solve one of the biggest issues to face IT in the last 20 years.

What you bring to the team

  • You have impressive experience in either secure messaging, data security or another cyber-security related field

  • You are well versed in enterprise email solutions such as Exchange or Lotus Domino or expert level knowledge of SMTP

  • You have been a part of a sales team before or you want your career to go that direction.

  • You have worked with or understand Directory Services

  • You understand networking and the most common protocols; SMTP, LDAP, HTTP, etc.

  • You write well, speak well, present well, and are a generally likeable person.

  • You enjoy working with people, and helping them solve their problems.

  • You are educated equivalent to a Bachelor in Computer Science, whether formally or not.
